Favorite Blogs: Coming Soon

So, I have been looking at a lot of new blogs lately(again, thank you Forever 21 for featuring 6 amazing bloggers on t-shirts) and a lot of them have a favorite blogs list. Today and yesterday I have been looking at Geri Hersh's blog, because im addicted. I adore that blog, and her must-reads list. I have found many new favorites on that blog, which lead to more must-read blogs, so right now, I've decided I'm going to make my own list. My favorite (so far) from her list is Cupcakes and Cashmere. It's wonderful, and, just like the name, delicious. They have shown me what really great posts look like, and since our Mac should be coming back soon(yay!) I will soon be able to post pictures on my blog! I went to Walmart today and got a picture disk to upload them, but that wasn't happening tonight, so probably the day after tomorrow (long story). So, I've got to go, good night all!

New Forever 21

If you haven't heard the amazing news, a new Forever 21 opened today in Times Square, New York. It's four whole stories of wonderful! They have over 30 cash registers and 151 dressing rooms. In the front is a real taxi cab and escalators so you don't have to walk up and down the step with all the clothes that you plan to try on/buy.  I think it would be worth the trip to New York just to see that, but that's just me who is a total Forever 21 fanatic. The displays look absolutely amazing and there is something there for every one. Ours here in the Flatirons mall has plus size, party clothes, kids clothes and used to carry their men's collection, so I can just imagine what all their variations of Forever 21 are there! Here is the link to see images and learn more. Hope you enjoyed the update! Long live Forever 21!

Katy Perry

Katy Perry is absolutely amazing, anyone who thinks she isn't is insane. Right now, as I write this, I'm listening to California Gurls. I love that song and just makes me miss California even more.I love Katy Perry's insane style. She has a vintage touch to a lot of her music videos and her first C.D. cover had her in a vintage looking swimsuit, which I adored. I love how fearless she is and how great it looks on her. She's the one who can pull off the blue wig and make it look like high fashion. She was on the cover of Lucky in June 2010 and the things that she loves (every person who gets a cover makes a list of what they can't live without) were amazing. I loved the snake stockings she had included. She is such a fashion role model. She has showed me that when you wear something you like, or that's fun, it doesn't matter what the reviews say. Katy Perry, if some way you ever read this, I want you to know that you are absolutely amazing and have taught me to be fearless when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. Here are some of my favorite pictures of her.

Gucci Resort 2011

Frida Giannini's most recent resort collection was amazing, absolutely stunning! The colors were mostly neutrals with military undertones. There was some blue and burnt orange thrown into the mix too. The shorts were stunning, I wish I could own every pair shown in the collection.  They looked a little like the shorts Florence Welch has on in the picture of her preforming in the July issue of Nylon. Amazing. The make-up was very natural which was very refreshing. The hair looked wind-blown. Not fussy at all.I had two favorite dresses. There was a burnt red shirt dress made out of a silky fabric and another dress that was white and silver. They were both above the knee and looked as though there were ready for day or night, which is great on a budget. The shoes were gorgeous. They were gladiators with metal on each strap. you should definitely check out this recent Gucci collection here, at style.com. More tomorrow!

Forever 21 Amazingness

Forever 21 has a new collection of t-shirts! They all have a drawing of a fashion blogger on them drawn by Danny Roberts. He is truly amazing. I want the t-shirt that has Pandora from the blog Pandora. Here is the link to it, but I have to warn you, it's in French. The pictures are amazing though, I just checked it out today. I would wear it with a skirt that I'm designing right now that has an animal print fabric. I can't wait to go shopping soon and get it.

Also, there has recently been a very big trend toward military inspired pieces. Military green, camoflauge in the most feminine ways. Its amazing. I remember when I was little and military infused clothes were in(as far as I knew, maybe it was just for kids ten and under). My Aunt Dacia took me out shopping to Limited Too(high fashion for my little eight year old self) and I got to pick out one outfit. I headed straight to the camo cargo pants. Now, cargo is still the thing but in a bit n=more sophisticated way. I really want a Juicy Couture military shirt/jacket. You could do almost anything with them, dress them up or down. Put it over jeans and my-soon-to-be Pandora shirt, or over a fabulous silk dress. The possibilities are absolutely endless. I just adore thinking of all the ways you could wear a single piece of clothing. How would you wear it?

     That's all for now.

A Quick Update

Sorry everyone for the massive pause on my part. The computer really hasn't appealed to me recently so I haven't been on in a while. anyway, I have found the most amazing new magazine, it's called Boho and I absolutely LOVE it! It is an eco-conscientious magazine with awesome articles and great clothes. Last time I went to the book store, they had the spring one out and I bought it. It was only $6 which is a really great price considering that the other magazines I wanted were boasting $15 or even $20 price tags. But, that's international couture for you.  Also, we (my mom and I) went to this grocery store called Sprouts the other day. I was getting pretty board so I checked out their cosmetics. They were all eco friendly, and I wouldn't consider buying things like blush or mascara there (but that's obvious since its a grocery store) they did have good chap stick. I wanted to try them all but then I figured I would be spending a small fortune in chap stick and lip gloss at a grocery store. Not my best idea. So I didn't buy any yet, but later I will have to try the Alba (I think that's the name) lip gloss and write a review on it. That's all for now! I promise to write again soon!
