Summer Attachment

Sorry I haven't posted any pictures yet of my outfits or San Fransisco. Life is so hectic with school starting and I've just trying to deal with that.  I have been trying to put my brain into fall mode for school because Lord knows I don't need another pair of shorts, or any more flimsy tank tops perfect for summer.  Yesterday we went to the Fancy Tiger, which is a local fabric store that I could spend hours and hours in. We went there after we dropped my little brothers off at the Ink Lounge for a kite making class. The Fancy Tiger was having a huge sale and these Amy Butler organic hemp fabrics were on sale. A couple looked a little like denim and one fabric that I just loved had dark and light pin-stripes all over and it looked a bit like printed denim. I wanted so much to take that bolt of fabric, buy a yard, and drive home to make a pair of shorts, but no, I told myself that I didn't need the fabric and sadly walked out of the store. It didn't help much that when we got to the Ink Lounge they were finished with their kites, and they were going to take them to a park to test them out. It was a beautiful day, but sitting there in the too-green-to-be-true grass, looking at my bare legs and the boys flying kites didn't help much with my fall dilemma. I need to get past summer, and the funny thing is, I want all those amazing fall things to come. The leaves changing colors, carving pumpkins, being able to wear a fabulous jacket when its chilly are some of my favorite things. I love all the new clothes and the back-to-school shopping lists. Now all I need is for my brain to register that that time of the year is here! I desperately need a new jacket, and I did order a vintage one on Etsy, but it hasn't come yet. I think that may be my cure to the attachment in my brain to summer. That, and maybe a new pair of ankle boot from Forever 21...

An Audrey Hepburn Kind of Top

So lately I've been drawn to striped tops. They seem to be popping up every where I go and today at JCPenny's I found a great one, that looked so fabulous on the mannequin, I just had to buy it... Until I looked at the rack and they only had extra larges. I'm typically a small/extra small when it comes to clothes and I can still fit into children's sizes. It absolutely horrible! Some girls at school actually wear the kind of kids clothes that I do fit into, but I just don't. Period. I'm not a neon and peace signs kind of girl, really, I love couture and fashion and the runway and I just wish I could be a touch bigger, but alas, I make it work with Forever 21 and, dare I say it, Aeropostale. But this is getting off topic, so right now I'm on search of finding the perfect striped top. I've been looking at French magazines since that is something the French know so much about, and pull off so easily. I want a top that Audrey Hepburn would be proud of. I love the look of a looser fitted top that is tight around the waist, so you have the draping at the neck, but the structure at the waist. I could tuck it in, wear under a military jacket, or just pair it with jeans, great shoes, and a simple pair of earrings. Well, my search continues, and I'll post pictures as soon as I have something to take pictures of. Tomorrow I'll do an outfit post with new clothes from California, good night!

The New School Year

Every store you go into right now mentions the new fall looks which makes you feel like you need new clothes for school and is decked out in the "it" colors for fall. I absolutely adore fall, it is "the" fashion season that almost every designer, magazine editor, and model look forward too. I've been searching for a new jacket for fall, my closet really needs an update, and I need to be able to stay warm in the chilly days of fall that Colorado always seems to have. I've been wearing a bright pink trench as my go-to jacket for the past year, and it has kind of become a cliche in my closet.  I love the look of the military jackets, but my question is, how long will that look really last? I want something that I can just grab off of its hook and wear. It has to go with almost everything. It does need to be light weight enough to tote around if the weather all of a sudden changes(that happens way too often here). It will need to stand up to wrinkles if I shove it into my locker right before the bell at school without really thinking that I will have to wear it later. I really need to look through my newest fall fashion magazines to get inspiration, but right now I'm leaning towards a faux-leather bomber jacket that Emily from cupcakes&cashmere just wrote about. Ugh, I guess I will have to search some more, I'll post pics of the jacket as soon as I decide which jacket. That's all for now, but more will come soon!

Home at Last

Hey everyone! I'm finally back after an eight day trip to see my bestest best friend Delanie in California. We couldn't have had more fun and I took lots and lot of pictures(over 200). I need to go through all the pictures, but as soon as I do, I will post about them. We did everything from mini golfing(my first time) to a trip to the eight-story-tall mall in San Fransisco(another first).  The mall, and more specifically the Forever 21, were a dream. I loved every minute of it, even gazing at clothing that I needed to survive(or so I thought, I must have made a miraculous recovery at the sores I could afford)but that were way out of my price range. I got some amazing clothes(for an amazing price) and had a first-time trip into an H&M. Let me just tell you, if you've never been into an H&M before, go. Right now. You will love it, at least, I did. I got two white tops(one at Forever 21, one at H&M) and I have already worn them both. Every person I see has told me I got an amazing tan when I was gone, but I'm not really sure if that is the white talking, or if that actually happened. When I wear something not-new tomorrow, we'll have to see. Just wanted to give you an update!
