Sky High
I've seen that color-blocked anything have been really popular for this coming season- and I'm obsessed, especially with color-blocked wedges. I first saw this style in March and I just can't help but keep coming back to my new shoe dream for summer. They are such a better alternative for flip-flops, and provide extra height since I'm only 5'4". In a way they remind me of these YSL "exit shoes" from fall that had the faux fur on the back, since they have unexpected color-blocking on the heel. They are a summer-y, toned-down version of those to me. My favorite part though is how they are sky-high, but still have structure so you don't topple over (which is necessity or me since I'm still practicing how to walk in stilettos). I for one, am hooked. {you can buy these Pierre Hardy shoes here and here, and another option that I couldn't find for sale here}

22 More days of School!
Today was one of those days. Actually, it started out great, then just went downhill from there. Calls and texts made me have a mini-breakdown coming home (on the bus, of all places), then more calls and texts just got me confused. Then more and more made me have more mini-breakdowns, and now, all I want to do is go curl up in my bed with ice cream and/or chocolates and pray a bit, because that's all you can do on a day like today. So, keep me and my family in your prayers please, because that's all I need right now. But (mini drum-roll, please) I was still able to muster up some sense of life and found some spring/mostly summer pictures for a bit of inspiration, ugh, I'm so ready for school to be out, then I'll officially be a HIGH SCHOOLER! Okay, that was as much energy as I'm getting out of myself for the rest of the week.

Butterflies on Black
As I was searching on Zara last night, I found the most spectacular jacket! It's self explanatory why I want it, um, what girl doesn't love butterflies and floaty fabric? It reminded me of a post the Glamourai did here about the butterfly sunnies, and it struck me as something Tommy Ton, or any other street style enthusiast, would catch while in the city. Now all I need to do is actually purchase it, do you think it would be too hot to wear in August in New York?

Eco Glam
Lately I've been much more conscientious about how "green" I am, with reducing showers (that's also practice for a missions trip with my youth group this summer), caring a reusable water bottle and turning off any lights after I leave a room. With earth day (this Friday) coming up, I thought I would give you a few things that make being eco friendly that much more fun.

Billows in the Wind
Even though spring has just sprung, I'm already thinking about my very first visit to New York in August {I know, so far away from now}. I've been envisioning Glamourai worthy outfits that would ideally be photographed by Tommy Ton ever since I knew our church group's next destination would be New York City, but to my dismay, this week I was told we would have a {gasp} dress code we had to follow. Instantaneously, all my hopes and dreams were rushed away, with thoughts of jeans and crew neck t-shirts being all I would have the pleasure to pack. {I know, I know, I'm being way overly dramatic, but it truly was crushing to hear those words} After giving this predicament much thought, which included checking the guidelines we had to abide by, I realized it wouldn't be as terrible as I imagined. Just a few simple rules we have to follow "for our safety" which included: closed toed shoes, no tank tops or shirts that show your stomach, and everything has to go below your knees, oh, and you have to be able to work in every one of the outfits you pack. That last one completely vetoed maxi-dresses, and now heels or wedges weren't even practical. But, the no-showing-your-shoulders-or-stomach-rule shouldn't be too hard to follow. That got me thinking to super roomy, loose tops that could easily look great on there own, or could be tucked into high-waisted jeans. These are some of my thoughts so far for tops that would allow me to pick up boxes, or go shopping in SoHo- and will be kept in my closet long after I unpack my suitcase.

Polka Dots for Spring
Spring time is becoming more and more apparent as the days go by and i'm not about to complain one bit! My favorite part of spring is when all of a sudden, a million different colors come out from whatever rock they were hiding under and make everything super bright. And, like very year, with color comes pattern, lots and lots of it. I'm still mastering how to mix patterns like the street style idols you see every day on Jak & Jil or Style, but as soon as that happens, I'll let you in on it. Strips and dots are some of my favorites, but my wardrobe is (or at least, won't be when I find the just-right patterns for my closet) definitely not limited to those child-at-heart splashes. These are what my spring dreams will consist of.

To Japan, Love Peyton
I'm officially back from California! I had such a great time in Disneyland (yes, not the most glamourous vacation, but fun for the whole family) and enjoyed the much need time out from school. That Friday morning, as i was repacking my bag to get on the airplane, my mom happened to turn on the news, and to such a devastating thing. All that fun came rushing out into instant empathy for these people that had just had their homes taken away by two major disasters. Its crazy to see all that happening and to think we are in our homes just enjoying life. I have already sent out a donation to World Vision (here), and at this point in time, I guess that's all you can really do. To all those people in Japan or who have loved ones there- my heart goes out to you.

Purple Sunnies
Last weekend I got new sunglasses and I'v been so excited to wear them, the only problem has been that it hasn't been super sunny and there fore pointless to wear them. I'm flying out to California this weekend so hopefully I will have plenty of opportunities to wear them. When I got them I was so excited because they are my first real piece of designer anything (they are from the amazing brand Fendi) and they are purple and amazing. I couldn't get the picture I took of them to upload and no good images were on the internet (at least not any that I could find) so I decided to post this instead. This picture was on The Glamourai last month and was so amazing that I had to share. If only i could get a pair of sunnies like these...

Pretty Little Flats
Spring is approaching quicker then anticipated and as I was looking through my closet yesterday, I realized I need new shoes for spring. Shoes are one thing that I don't indulge in nearly enough but this season is begging for new spring-ish sandals. My parents have planned for our whole family to go to California in two weeks (a little surprise for all of us) and that combined with the fact that a new season is making way, I have the perfect reason to go shoe shopping. I'm hoping to get a bright colored pair of ballet flats (like these), sky-high wedges in a natural material, and either gladiator sandals or a nautical, rope pair of sandals. Here is just one of the amazing shoes that have inspired my search for the perfect shoes for my lacking closet(more to come, I promise).

Dreaming of Summer
Candy colored hues always seem to seep into my closet around this time when I'm in desperate need of a day by the pool, or just hot weather in general. In December I'm fine with the cold, dank atmosphere, but now that it's February - and it's just starting to get real cold - I have some issues with not being able to wear anything that hits above my ankle, or having to wear 50 layers any time I step out side. After all the snow we got today, I'm in a serious need of a pick-me-up, and these delicious finds certainly brightened my mood. They were definitely what I needed after such an average start to the week. So, which neon pop of color are you dreaming of bringing into your closet?
